The Role of Scientific Research in Development" Forum Comes to an End

Source: King Khalid University Media and Communications King Khalid University, represented by the College of Arts and Science at  Mahayel Asir, concluded " The Role of Scientific Research in Development", which began on the tenth of the  Rabi` al-Akhir,  under the sponsorship  of the College Dean, Dr. Ibrahim Al Qaid Asiri. At the opening ceremony, the Dean of the College thanked the post  Graduate  and Scientific Research Committee at the college and those in charge of the forum , while the Vice-Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research and the President of the Forum, Dr. Abdullah Al-Zahrani, stressed the importance of the forum in the university’s  mission to develop the role of  scientific research. The  forum agenda included six sessions , which were  presented over a period of two days, in which 24 researchers with various papers presented their work in a variety of fields that included: Islamic studies, Arabic and English Language, Chemistry, Physics, Biology , Mathematics, Home Economics,  Information systems. The  sessions witnessed the participation and contribution of a large number of participant who discussed the presented papers. The Dean of the College concluded the forum by thanking the participants and attendees, he also thanked  Dr. Abdullah Al-Zahrani, Dr. Saleh Al-Suhaimi and the organizing  team. It’s worth mentioning that the college has recently  offered  a number of scientific forums with the aim of  promoting the  culture of  research, and activating the role of partnerships among university members .

The University organizing "Scientific Research from Idea to Marketing" webinar

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center  Deanship of Scientific Research at King Khaled University organizes an online webinar entitled "Scientific Research from Idea to Marketing", the webinar is targeting to postgraduate students, professors and researchers, since it is one of the rich and important courses in this field, this webinar comes as part of  Mobaderoon project, and presented by Dr. Mark Oleksack, next Thursday. Investing in Scientific Research

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center As part of the series of Academic Development and Quality series of training courses, the Dean of Scientific Research at the University, Dr. Hamed bin Majdou 'Al-Qarni,  Dr. Ali Bin Saeed Al-Qahtani and Dr. Ahmed Banaameh delivered a  training program entitled "Investing in Scientific Research" targeting  faculty members.  During the program which was held in a three day period, the presenters discussed the factors to investing in research as well as the methods to brainstorming, innovation and creativity to serving the community’s social, financial and development needs.

Events of the scientific research day at the college

Within the activities of the Scientific Research Committee, the Committee approved the scientific research at its second meeting on 15/5/1440 H in cooperation with the Development and Quality Unit at the College in order to establish the activities of the scientific research day at the college, which focused on several points of implementation of the directives of the Deanship of Scientific Research. The attendees were the Vice Dean of the College / Dr. Samia Mustafa and the Vice Dean for Development and Quality Ms. Ahlam Al-Qahtani, and the nineteen faculty members. The program included the following presentations:   How do you choose the appropriate scientific journal for your research? By Dr. Anjam Ahmed .   The management of references and papers using the Mendeley program . By Ms. Suha AlRasheed.  Ethics of Scientific Research. By Dr. Salwa Saad  How to Design an Electronic Questionnaire. By Ms. Rania Ziyadah.          Presentation of Scientific Database Models (ISI) . By Ms. Iman Al-Ahmari & Ms. Ashwaq Al-Ahmari.  Presentation of published and under publishing research papers. By Dr. Hala Al Zubair & Dr. Najwa Abdullah & Dr. Mashaer Hussein & Dr. Anjom Ahmad.   Panel discussion on the problems and challenges facing scientific research at college. By Dr. Anjom Ahmad. The event concluded with the distribution of certificates of thanks to the members participating in the programs.

King Khalid University Attends International Exhibition and Conference for Higher Education 2019

The International Exhibition & Conference on Higher Education was recently held on Riyadh on the 10th of April. Undersecretary of Education for Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Ahmed Al-Muharj, hosted the event, in which many domestic and international universities participated. The representatives included several university rectors, deans, and cultural attachés. King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, represented King Khalid University at the conference. King Khalid University had its own pavilion set up at the conference. University volunteers staffed the pavilion, and provided information about school programs and initiatives to a great number of visitors. The staff had both print and digital media available to the public. The volunteers were available throughout the day to answer questions from guests.....more

The Scientific Research Committee presented the fourth scientific seminar titled ,The preparation of scientific posters presented by Dr. / Salwa Saad - Assistant Professor Department of Administrative Sciences and techniques, which targeted faculty members It began with the definition of academic posters, which can be defined as a multi-media model .By writing text And use colors, images and tables to display the content and delivery of the search idea, The researcher also uses speech, body language and facial gestures to communicate the idea during the explanation, Academic posters summarize the research content briefly and offer it in an attractive way, P is also a kind of the idea of ​​research or project, The poster and the visual presentation are similar in terms of content basics The differences between the scientific poster and the visual presentation are highlighted as follows: The speaker requires his presence next to his scientific poster when he is shown, he also needs to explain and explain his idea to the public several times, in the visual presentation the researcher has a field to put content and graphics more, the speaker is usually asked to prepare a 15-minute presentation of between 15 and 20 slides, here he tries to adjust himself to the time commitment so that after five minutes it will be possible to open the area for questions, in the scientific poster the area where the content and graphics will be displayed is limited so as I mentioned we need skill in the summary Why the scientific participant Poster?  Scientific posters and visual presentations are used to summarize and display the research.    Scientific poste differentiate open A door discussion direct between researcher and the public.  Good summary skill.   Focus on small details.   A good opportunity for the researcher to train to give his research and explain his idea in short.   Scientific poster exhibitions provide an opportunity for the researcher to view other research. .Direct assessment of service  . Exchange of experiences and ideas  .Cooperation among researchers  The basic elements of the scientific posters were also presented:   Headline.  Introduction to Research.   Purpose of the research.  Research goals.   Methods of data collection.   Search content.   Results.  Summary.   Conclusion.   Discussion.  I also talked about the design of the poster where it should be simple; the audience can read it quickly, Clear, Select the target group. The following points should also be considered during the design of the posters: balancing the texts and images and leaving the spaces between the paragraphs, bearing in mind that the white area is 10% -30%, Also identify important texts in a different color. Conditions of exhibitions of scientific posters:  The poster should be clearly written.  To be characterized by scientific health and linguistic integrity.   Initiation of the poster with the title of the research and the name of the participant and the university to which he belong.   Its contents are divided into: title, introduction, problem of study, study objectives, resources and methods of research, results, discussion, abstract, scientific references.   The content should be brief and focused.   Provide wall panels or panels with a suitable size label, such as A0.   The poster will bring the posters with abbreviations in the headings of the forms and tables as much as possible, and the forms and tables do not contain unnecessary details.  Place the university logo on the top right, and the conference logo at the top left.  Poster stickers are placed on the plates.    The posters must be displayed within the allotted time period, with the participant present next to his poster during the times specified by the program.

Constructive Doubt in Knowledge and Its Value in Scientific Research: A Lecture at King Khalid University

King Khalid University, represented by the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the Faculty of Humanities, organized a scientific lecture on Sunday the 5th of Safar 1440 AH titled 'Constructive Doubt in Knowledge and Its Value in Scientific Research'. It was presented by Dr. Abdullah bin Sulayem Al-Rasheed and managed by Abdulrahman Al-Mahsani, Director of the Social Research Center at King Khalid University. During the lecture, Dr. Al-Rasheed presented a number of scientific, linguistic, literary, and historical issues, which were addressed through cognitive and constructive skepticism and characterized by accurate research methodology. He called upon scientific researchers and postgraduate students to examine knowledge according to scientific, methodological and research frameworks. He pointed out that constructive and useful cognitive skepticism is a high scientific methodological element that results in addressing many issues and correcting many concepts. Al-Rasheed cautioned attendees not to depend on sources that are not based on scientific or systematic approaches. He asserted that invalid, unreliable, and unpublished works are not reliable sources. The lecture witnessed a large number of attendees and participants. At the end of the talk, Dr. Kassem Asiri, Dr. Khaled Abu Hikma, and Dr. Ahmed Al-Tahani thanked Dr. Al-Rasheed for his speech and his visit to the university.
