KKUx Launches 3 Programs

Source: King Khalid University_ Media Center KKUx platform at King Khalid University launched three short training programs with certified mini degrees. The three programs were on Python, data analysis and representation and designing user experience. The platform supervisor Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Ahmari, explained these programs are among the most required specializations in the labor market. So, getting an approved certificate in these fields will shorten the learner’s path and contribute to acquiring many skills. He confirmed, mini degree programs are based on synchronous and asynchronous self-learning. It also requires joining virtual knowledge communities, starting and developing graduation projects with the help of experts, and attending a series of courses to develop a future skill which will qualify for an approved mini-degree. Al-Ahmari pointed KKUx is one of the first platforms specialized in future skills and the fourth industrial revolution in Saudi universities. The program “Data Analysis and Representation” focuses on data analysis, steps to download R language, importing data and statistical description. It also focuses on data distribution, dealing with missing values, applying predictive analysis using Linear regression 7, representing data using R language and acquiring the skills of representing data using Tabula. The program “Programming Using Python” introduces the main concepts in programming, writing softwares, solving programming issues, designing electronic games and the concept of multithreading. The program also covers the mechanisms of acquiring skills in databases, networks and creating applications in the Python. As well as introducing data structures, algorithms, and designing advanced applications. As for the third program “Designing User Experience”, it focuses on using techniques to design a different user experience to develop digital projects. It focuses on planning the process of user experience based research, determining the required accuracy and analyzing the research outcomes and using them in a way that benefits the project. The program covers developing the core components of any digital project (research, characters, use scenarios). In addition to the most important international concepts in designing, the importance of modeling and its types, the prototypes accuracy and their types. As well as increasing the effectiveness of designing process and models production in general using Figma one of the latest design platforms. The trainee will learn the basics of using this platform and how to harness it in producing effective prototypes. The final part in all the three programs all what was learned would be applied in a graduation project which would be reviewed and evaluated by the trainer.

KKUx Delivers More Than 28 Training Courses

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University's KKUx online training platform delivered a number of courses in different areas of specialization. These training courses are a part of the platform’s Maharat (Skills) Program, which is planned to continue to September 2020. Dean of E-learning, Supervisor of KKUx, Dr. Fahad Al-Ahmari, explained that the platform focuses on entrepreneurship, design and technology. It also holds training courses on company formation, entrepreneurship, design thinking, artificial intelligence, programming using Python, the basics of Mandarin and more. He pointed out that all the skills were designed to meet labor market requirements in line with Vision 2030. Dean Al-Ahmari also explained that the courses reached 28 in number. They included: Python for All, Arabic Calligraphy, Basics of Advertising, Cyber Security, Data Analysis, Designing using Illustrator, Crisis Management Strategies, The Basics of Mandarin, User Experience Design, Emotional Intelligence, Design Research, Artificial Intelligence, Designing and Developing IOS Apps, The Basic Principles of Designing, Design Thinking, Developing 2D Games, The Basic Principles of Designing 2, The Basics of Start-ups formation, Social Media Analysis, an Introduction in e-commerce and e-retail, Project Management PMP and the Art of Data Visualization. Dean Al-Ahmari added that the platform, in collaboration with the General Authority for Small and Medium Enterprises, has organized an additional five training courses. The courses would be on electronic commerce, the effective management of financial performance, design thinking, the Internet of Things, and e-marketing. KKUx Draws in 2 Million Visitors and Grants More Than 60,000 Certificates

Source:  King Khalid University - Media Center The KKUx Learn More initiative has witnessed incredible growth with current statistics showing more than 2,000,000 visitors. Learn More offered all 27 courses, which included more than 1,000 content videos, to everyone for free through April 2020. Vice Rector of Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Abdullatif Al-Hadithi, asserted that the KKUx Learn More Initiative is driven by the paradigm of safeguarding the health and well-being of their students, staff and faculties and fulfilling their social responsibility to encourage lifelong learning. The initiative included 25 qualitative skill-based courses delivered by 27 expert trainers from around the world. Of note, 51,000 trainees from 26 countries participated in the training with another 60,000 obtaining qualification training. The KKUx platform includes self-paced courses on design thinking, entrepreneurship, forming start-up companies, artificial intelligence, Python 3 coding, and Mandarin basics. Of noteworthy mention, KKUx was the recipient of an award at the WSIS 2019 competition.

Stuck in Self Isolation? KKUx Offers 27 Online Courses for Free

Learn More aims to offer all of the platform's training courses to everyone for free through April 2020. A certificate accredited from King Khalid University will be obtained upon completion of the course. The platform has 27 courses and over 1,000 educational videos. Vice Rector for Business and Knowledge Economy, Prof. Abdullatif Al-Hadithi, explained that the initiative is part of the standing commitment to the community. "This initiative aims to encourage and motivate people to invest their time in educating themselves during the quarantine for free,” he said. Vice Rector Al-Hadithi then pointed out that the platform appreciates any collaboration in offering more learning opportunities, either from individual trainers and experts or learning and training institutions, noting that interesting individuals or organizations are encouraged to register on the platform's website at https://kkux.org or email kkux@kku.edu.sa for collaborations. Rector Al-Solamy Establishes Standing Committee to Strengthen and Enhance KKUx

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector Falleh Al-Solamy, established a standing committee to manage the KKUx platform. The KKUx platform attracts top instructors at the domestic and international levels. It aims to provide in-demand courses for in-demand careers in accord with Vision 2030. The on-demand video lectures and exercises will allow participants to apply their new skills and showcase their expertise to employers with a shareable course certificate upon completion. Responsibilities of the committee include launching partnerships and cooperation with both the government and private industry, building influential relationships with individuals, investors, entrepreneurs, for-profit and nonprofit organizations, and universities. Of noteworthy mention, the role of data analysis and machine intelligence in accessing smart services for the learner and teacher is a course offering theme planned for the near future. Members of the committee have specialties in e-learning, educational technology, artificial intelligence and related fields headed by Dean of E-Learning, Dr. Fahad Alahmari. The current members are CIO Dr. Mohammed Alsaqer; Artificial Intelligence Center Head, Dr. Salem Alelyani; Vice CIO Dr. Ebtisam Alqatani; Educational Technology Department Head, Dr. Abdullah Al-Muhaya; E-learning expert Dr. Abdullah Al-Waleedi; former Engineering College dean, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Falqi; Pharmacy College Assitant Dean, Dr. Dalia Almugasala; General Administration of Legal Affairs Supervisor, Dr. Ali Hejri; and KKUx representative Abdullah Roza. In related news, KKUx was the recipient of numerous awards at both the domestic and international level, being considered a model for platforms that offer future skills training. Most recently, a cooperation agreement was reached with Jeddah University.

KKUx training course on designing the 2030 vision’s specific initiatives

Source:King Khalid University- Media Center The University’s KKUx platform which is affiliated with the Deanship of E-Learning, implemented a training course in designing specific initiatives for the Kingdom's 2030 vision. The course was presented by the supervisor of the University’s Vision achievement office Dr. Ali Al-Amir. It targeted more than 200 male and female trainees. The course aimed to explain the concepts of the 2030 Saudi vision and its strategic goals. As well as reviewing the executive programs resulted from it, in addition to strengthening the fundamental role of this ambitious Vision. This role is embodied in developing the national economy and enhancing the strategic position of the Kingdom among other countries at all levels and in various development sectors. The Course addressed the Definition of the 2030 Saudi Vision and its important role in national economy development, as well as reviewing its executive programs. It also shed light on the strategic planning in designing the Vision’s specific initiatives and explaining the mechanism of specific initiative designing through a specific initiative designing module. An explanation to the mechanism of designing the Vision’s initiatives through a more simplified module was also discussed in the course.    This course is a part of a series of intensive training courses offered by the platform to improve the users’ necessary skills and knowledge.

World Summit Awards Puts Spotlight on KKUx Best in Saudi Digital Innovation in Learning and Education

          Source :King Khalid University - Media Center                                                 King Khalid University's KKUx platform obtained the esteemed best practice distinction at the national level in the Education and Learning Category administered by the United Nations at the 2019 WSIS Prizes event. It was among the best digital contents which contributed to achieving the sustainable development goals of the United Nations. There were 420 contributions from 100 countries around the world. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) organized this competition in cooperation with the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). The best applications and achievements which facilitate communication were chosen from 18 categories.

KKUx Platform: Developing and Enhancing Future Skills

King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of e-Learning, participated in the 2018 International Conference on Education Evaluation in Riyadh. The conference was held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman ibn Abdulaziz - may Allah preserve him. The conference centered on the latest ideas in future skills development and evaluation. The conference was attended by His Excellency King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Falleh R. M. Al-Solamy, Vice Rector of Academic Development and Quality, Dr. Merzin Al-Shahrani, and Academic Development and Quality Dean, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Hajri. Dean Al-Hajri managed a session title 'Influential Leadership in Educational Institutions'. Dean of e-Learning and General Supervisor of Design, Dr. Fahad Al-Ahmari, delivered a visual presentation on the KKUx platform. He highlighted the university's efforts in developing and enhancing future skills through the platform. Dean Al-Ahmari discussed how the platform works and its main purpose, which is to connect learning outcomes to labor market needs. He concluded his presentation by stressing the value of in-demand skills. Of note, KKUx's web traffic has exceeded 20,000 visitors and is the first of its kind in the Kingdom's higher education field.
