University Organizes Writing Reports and Administrative Correspondence Short Course

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education, as part of the Mobaderoon initiative, recently organized the "Writing Reports and Administrative Correspondence" short course, which will take place on the 20th and 21st of Shawwal Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education, Dr. Omar Alwan Aqeel, said: "The course comes in cooperation with the Community College in Khamis Mushait. The short course will take place over two evenings from 7 pm to 10 pm. The course is tailored to women who work in roles that require report writing or administrative correspondence." The course aims to identify the concept of administrative reports and their types; elements and qualities of a good report; applying technical skills in designing reports and correspondence; being familiar with the stages of preparing the administrative report correctly, and preparing a complete administrative report following its controls. Dean Aqeel thanked the Community College in Khamis Mushait for its cooperation and everyone who contributed to the establishment of the course.

Internal Transfer Results Announced

Source:King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of Admissions and Registration at King Khalid University announced the results of internal transfer between different majors. The Deanship received more than 2,800 requests which were electronically analyzed and sorted. Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdulmohsen Algarni, explained that more than 40% of the requests were approved. He confirmed the Deanship's fairness and transparency in transfer procedures in accord with strict guidelines. Some of those guidelines call for the highest GPA and the number of available seats set by the departments, guaranteeing the rights of all applicants. Dean Algarni confirmed the Deanship's eagerness in serving everyone online through Academia and Tawasul. He pointed out that visiting the Deanship would not be possible during this period in line with national social distancing measures. Asir Electricity & Water Rationalization Project Supported by 30 University Projects

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center   Within the Asir Electricity & Water Rationalization Project, inaugurated by Asir Gov. Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, the Department of Media and Communication at the College of Humanities has dedicated all students graduation projects for the Summer 2020 Semester to support this project through campaigns and e-projects, serving to introduce the project and achieve its goals by raising awareness and educating society. Department of Media and Communication Head, Prof. Ali Al-Qarni, explained that his team allocated graduation projects to serve an important not only in the region but also in the Kingdom. "It is essential for the educational and training process for the students. They will conduct educational campaigns through social media," he said. Prof. Alqarni added: "It is expected that these projects will reach about thirty projects under the direct supervision of a faculty member who will follow up on the progress and impact of the project. Our experienced faculty members will each be assigned 5 students and work under a guiding principle that calls for fulfilling the objectives of the Asir Electricity & Water Rationalization Project."

The University to Hold “ Academic writing and Publishing “ Workshop

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of Scientific Research at King Khalid University is to hold a  “ Academic writing and Publishing “ workshop presented by  Prof.Thomas Leskevich  on Wednesday and Thursday evening 18th-19th of  Shawwal 1441Ah  for three hours. The dean of the Deanship of Academic Research at the University, Dr. Hamid Majdou 'Al-Qarni, said that the workshop will be held the  English language and is part of the  "Mubadron" program that the university recently  launched .Adding that the work show targets  post graduate students and researchers, and aims to  enhance and develop the skills of academic writing and scientific publishing.

Post graduate Deanship is to Hold “ Stress management “ Workshop

Source: King Khalid University Media and Communications King Khalid University represented by the Deanship of Postgraduate   Studies,  as part of he "Mubadron" project, is to hold a work shop entitles“ The Art of Stress Management", presented by Assistant Professor, Dr. Khadran Al Suhaimi tomorrow, Tuesday, the 17th of Shawwal 1441Ah. The dean of postgraduate studies at the university, Dr. Ahmed bin Yahya Al-Fayeh, explained that the workshop is to be held at 7pm -9 pam, noting that attendees are to receive the workshop certificate via email. He thanked all those  working on to the success of the workshop at the university. It is worth mentioning, that then workshop aims to identify the pressures facing postgraduate students  and to reveal the most prominent causes, in addition to explaining the most important skills for dealing with stress.

University holds a meeting on Governance and Sustainability Tomorrow

Source: King Khalid University Media and Communications   King Khalid University, represented by the Corporate Governance Center as part of the "Mubadron" project, is to hold an online meeting tomorrow, Tuesday the 17th of Shawal. The director of the Corporate Governance Center, Prof. Marea Al-Habbash, explained that the meeting will take place online  two hours at  7-9 pm, and targets all members of society, thanking everyone who contributed to the establishment of this meeting from various parts of the university. He  added that the meeting comes in the framework of raising awareness on  governance and sustainability in the current circumstances, which is part  the center's mission.

The University Reduces Electricity Consumption by 35% and Rationalizes the Use of Water

Source: King Khalid University Media and Communications His Excellency King Khalid University Rector   Prof. Dr. Falleh bin Raja Allah Al-Solami, praised the water rationalize water and electricity consumption  project in the Asir region launched by His Royal Highness Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, the  governor of Asir region  to support the Kingdom’s  efforts in fighting the COVID 19 and rising the awareness and responsibility of Saudi citizens on protecting natural resources. His Excellency stressed  that the university interacted with the project by promoting and consolidating conscious consumer culture as a national duty, and worked to reduce electricity consumption by 35% and rationalized the use of water in all  units and headquarters as one of the targeted government sectors in this project. Al-Solami, explained that the university is working to consolidate this higher national and cultural value of rationalization and preservation of resources , adding that the subject of this project will be the focus of many scientific papers, workshops, lectures and awareness campaigns, in addition to that some graduation projects will be allocated in the summer semester to serve the goals of this project .

Community Service and College of Nursing Educate the Elderly On Important Health Matters

Source: King Khalid University Media and Communications King Khalid University represented by the Community Service and Continues Education Deanship and the College of Nursing are holding a  health educational program for women of older age in our community as part of the Mobadroon initiative on Sunday the 15th of Shawal. The Dean of Community Service and Continues Education prof. Dr. Omar Alwan Aqil ,said that the program  is a collaboration between the Community Service and Continues Education Deanship and the College of Nursing in Khamis Mushayt, and will take place online  in the evening from 7pm to 9pm  to educate women of old age and members of their families of health issues. He also thanked the college of Nursing on their collaboration and efforts towards our community. The  program aims to introduce the factors that may contribute to the changes that appear when aging, in addition to providing information and  skills  to adapt to common problem with age to help women age in a healthy happy way. It’s worth noting, that the Mobadroon program is offered to all members of our society to develop skills and encourage community service.

University to Support 45 COVID-19 Research Projects

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center In an attempt to contribute to the Kingdom's efforts in finding a vaccination to the global coronavirus pandemic, King Khalid University will fund ground-breaking research projects and initiatives into the Coronavirus (COVID-19) and its treatment. Vice Rector of Graduate Studies and Research, Prof. Saad Al-Amri, explained that the supported research projects have reached 45 and are planned to find a solution to COVID-19 and to develop effective drug treatments and vaccines. He added a supervisory committee has been formed that includes a number of specialists to follow the progress of the research projects.

University Vice Rector of Academic Affairs for Female Students Meets With University Members Online

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center Sponsored by Vice Rector of Female Academic Affairs, Prof. Kholoud Abu Melha, the Department of Media and Relations recently organized an online meeting with the university's female faculty and staff to celebrate Eid Al Fitr and the return to work. During the meeting, Dr. Halima Al-Saidi, supervisor of the Department of Physics, delivered the female faculty members' speech, while Mrs. Ahoud Al-Ghamdi from the College of Engineer represented staff. The meeting was moderated by Director of Media Development and Training at the General Administration of Media and Relations, Mrs. Kholoud Al-Renini. The meeting started with a welcoming speech delivered by Mrs. Noura Amer, a faculty member from the Department of Media and Communication. Vice Rector Abu Melha followed after and congratulated faculty and staff on the occasion of Eid Al Fitr and the return to work, commending the Kingdom's efforts in limiting the spread of the Coronavirus. The meeting also included a speech by Assistant Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Sarah Al-Shehri, which was delivered on her behalf by Dr. Ashwaq Asiri, assistant professor of Child Health at the Faculty of Medicine. Towards the end, Assistant Dean of Human Resources, Dr. Shinaifa Al-Qarni, delivered a speech on the mechanism of the employees returning to the workplace. Of note, the meeting also included the participation of a number of university members, who congratulated the university on the Eid Al Fitr.
