University to Hold a Workshop on the Roles of Family in Adolescent Development

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education in collaboration with the College of Education, will hold a workshop entitled "Family Supervision in the Raising of a Teenager" on Sunday evening as part of the Mobaderoon initiative. The workshop aims to identify the characteristics of the advised familial environment for teenagers. It also highlights the importance of sexual education and mental health in light of the teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ). Community Service at the University Organizes Executive Strategic Planning Training Course

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education recently launched a training course entitled "Executive Strategic Planning" within the Mubaderoon initiative on the 28th and 29th of Shawwal. Dean of Community Service and Continuing Education, Prof. Omar Alwan Aqeel, explained that the course is tailored for women in the strategic planning space. noting that the course will run from 7 pm to 10 pm. Dean Aqeel praised the efforts of the Community College in Khamis Mushait in developing the course. The course aims to introduce participants to the methods used to formulate the strategic vision and mission and how to set the strategic goals for the organization; how to do integrated environmental analysis using the quantitative SWOT matrices; factors that affecting the success or failure of strategic choice; the precise implementation of the strategy and how to link the organization's strategic plan with the execution plan, in addition to understanding the methods used to review and monitor the implementation of the strategy.

University Continues to Offer Online Medical Consultations

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center His Royal Highness, Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Governor of the Asir Region, recently launched the Neshama Asir Initiative in cooperation with the College of Medicine and the Medical City. The initiative aims to provide online medical consultations in a number of specialties with specialized medical counselors. We are pleased to announce that this community-based medical initiative is on-going.   Dean of the College of Medicine, Prof. Suliman Al-Humayed, explained that this initiative, under the supervision of His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy, provides an open channel for patients to have an online medical consultation with doctors in various fields during the COVID-19 pandemic. He pointed out that more than 280 appointments have been booked with consultants from the College of Medicine and Medical City since the launch last Ramadan. "This initiative aims to facilitate communication between the patients and faculty member consultant physicians at the College of Medicine and the Medical City to counsel, advise and help them," said Dean Al-Humayed. On the mechanism of obtaining a medical consultation, Dean Al-Humayed explained that those who wish to benefit from this initiative can book an appointment according to the specified consultation schedules by (clicking here).

Graduate and Doctoral Admissions Period Extended

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center Due to increased demand, His Excellency King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy directed the extension of the admission period to graduate and doctoral programs. The online-only admission period is extended until Tuesday 2-11-1441 AH. Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Ahmed Al-Fayea, explained that the Deanship would make admission available for those who couldn’t apply earlier or couldn’t take the necessary exams such as Post-Graduate General Aptitude Test and Standardized Test For English Proficiency due to the current circumstances. GSM Starts Educational Culture Season

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center   On the 24th of Shawwal, and under the patronage of His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy, the Saudi Scientific Association for Teachers (GSM) launched, within the Mobaderoon initative, the educational cultural season for 1441 AH. The season will start with a meeting on how to raise outstanding young men and women, which will be delivered by Dr. Khoudran Alshemi, a faculty member in the Education College, and directed by Dr. Mohammad Zaidan, Vice Head of the Association Management Council. The season will continue the association's plan and tasks online and aims to productively invest the members' times and society during the precautionary procedures of COVID-19 and summer vacation, promoting talents interested in plastic art and digital design, in addition to raising the community awareness of their role against the global pandemic.

Nearly 30K Students Enroll in Summer Semester Conducted Online

Source:  King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University continues to offer its summer semester remotely to 29,589 students in various specializations, offering 653 courses presented by 594 faculty members in 1678 online classes. Dean of E-Learning, Dr. Fahad Al-Ahmari, explained that in the light of the standards of the learning management system and virtual classes during the second week of the summer semester 1441 AH (15-19 Shawwal), there were 99,401 user, 74,113 evaluations, 6,605 discussion board posts, 3,320 viewed files, 3,181 virtual classes, and 82,138 participants. On the technical support side, Dean Al-Ahmari said that 253 support enquires were received since the beginning of the summer semester. In addition, the Deanship held a workshop on building electronic content on Blackboard for faculty members that was attended by 582 faculty members. It's worth noting that the Deanship's channel "Tamkeen" also continues its efforts to provide educational services, as the number of videos since the beginning of the summer semester reached 275, and the channel achieved 4,578 views in 135 hours and the number of interactions reached 40,437.

“The Skills of Dealing with Crises and Disasters” a course organized by KKU’s Community Service

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The University represented in the Deanship of Community Service and Continuous Learning organized, on Sunday the 22nd of Shawal, a course entitled “The Skills of Dealing with Crises and Disasters”. This course is a part of the project “Mobaderon”. The Dean of Community Service and Continuous Learning Dr. Omar Alwan Aqeel, explained that the course is a collaboration between the Deanship and the Business Collage. It’s an online course that lasted for two hours from 7p.m to 9p.m. He pointed that the course targets female community members. He thanked the Business Collage for their collaboration and everyone who participated in organizing this course. The course aims to explain the concept of a disaster scientifically, and clarifying the difference between a disaster and a crisis. It also aims to introduce the most important types of crises, and explain the most important strategies to deal with a crisis and the key factors to succeed in dealing with them. In addition to introducing the role of community institutions and individuals in face of crises and disasters. The course gave some suggestions and possible scenarios to help address the economic and social crises due to CVID-19.

The University Scholarship Al-Hanif achieves the Academic Excellence Award at George Mason University

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center Abdulkarim bin Ayed Alhonaif, The Scholarship Instructor from King Khalid University for a master’s degree in America, won the Academic Excellence Award in “Communication Sciences” program at College of Engineering at George Mason University, for the year 2020AD. His Ecellency the University Rector, Prof. Faleh Alsolami expressed his congratulations to Alhonaif for his excellency, asking all scholarships to take advantage of the scientific and research capabilities of the universities they study in, and doing their best to get more superiority and achievement for themselves, the university and the country. The University Vice-Rector for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Saad Alamri, expressed his congratulations to Abdulkarim alhonaif and the college for his distinguished scientific achievement. The investigation reveals the integrity of the University procedures

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center An investigation directed by the governor of Aeer region revealed that, a misunderstanding and appreciation of the student, Zahra Al-Qahtani, against the Vice-Rector t of KKU for Higher Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Saad Alamri and the Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Ahmed Al-Faee ', resulting in her complaint of injustice, in the first executive meeting to develop the special-needs  field, where she said: ' She is a woman with special-needs and she was prevented from being a professor at the university despite her excellency in the master's degree'. The investigation showed the university and its employees' honesty, as they dealt with the student’s request according to the rules and regulations admission to postgraduate studies and academic positions. Prince Turki bin Talal ordered holding a meeting between the student and her father and the university professors. the two professors waived the legal claim against the student, so they preferred to deal with claim friendly and educationally, as appreciation to the student situation, and adherence to the educational principles. Emirate Of Aseer Province confirmed that every citizen has the full right to ask for his claim, listen to it and work on it, at the same time, stressing on the necessary to provide an evidence to prove the allegation and verify its authenticity, and whoever proves that his claim is malicious will be treated legally. In light of this, the Emirate values the professors ways in dealing with this the situation.

The University confirms that it implements the regulation and stresses on the importance of providing accurate information

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Emirate of Asir region issued a statement regarding the investigation directed by His Highness, the Governor of the Asir region, Prince Turki bin Talal bin Abdulaziz, on the issue related to the student who gave inaccurate information in a public meeting. She claimed she was forbidden from being a lecturer although she was an excellent MA student. The investigation unveiled the intricacies revealing the integrity of the University’s position. The decisions made by the University’s Vice-President for Post-Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Saad bin Abdul Rahman Al-Amari and the Dean of Post-Graduate Studies Dr. Ahmed bin Yahya Al-Faee ’ were objective. The Student request to an academic position was processed according to the rules and regulations organizing the admission to postgraduate studies and application for academic positions. The statement included an appreciation of the professors’ noble reaction when they waived the legal claim against that student. They decided to treat this issue in a pure academic manner in appreciation to her condition, and in adherence to the established educational principles. In light of this, the University stresses that all the academic and administrative procedures are governed by regulations which the University makes sure to implement in a transparent, objective and accurate manner. It also confirms it welcomes any complaints, suggestions and notes with an open heart. It pointed that all the means of communication are available to all, however investigating the integrity and providing accurate information must be considered.
