EndNote Training Course Launched

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center  The Deanship of Graduate Studies at King Khaled University, within the "Mobaderoon" initiative, will launch an online course entitled "Organizing and Managing Scientific References in English and Arabic Languages Using EndNote". The course is tailored to graduate students at the university. The course will be presented by Dr. Abdul Rahim Mahmoud Ali, associate professor of applied mathematics, next Wednesday evening. Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Ahmed Al-Fayea, explained that the course aims to introduce the EndNote indexing program; how to create a reference library; how to cite references using the program; change references and citation patterns to suit different journals; in addition to how to organize Arabic references through the program; and how to download magazine styles via the Internet. Dean Al-Fayea added that the course comes within the series of courses and programs targeted to raise the scientific research and professional level of the graduate students at the university.

Bridging Program Exams to Start Soon

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center  The Deanship of Admissions and Registration is pleased to announce the preparation, execution regulations, and student admission conditions for students in the Bridging Year Program (BYP). The purpose of the Bridging Year Program is to prepare students who hold a diploma from a community college to pursue a Bachelor's Degree at King Khalid University. Students who pass the BYP can then study the last two years of participating colleges and graduate with a Bachelor's Degree from the University. Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdulmohsen Algarni, explained that the Deanship specified, in coordination with colleges, the dates and places of the examination for Business Administration, Accounting, Information Systems, and Computer Science. KKU Students Design Braille Scanner

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center  The Department of Diagnostic Radiology at the College of Applied Medical Sciences at King Khalid University activated medical scanning in Braille. The Department issued a guide for it in participation with students Hajar Al-Mutair, Fay Al-Shahrani, and Nada Al-Qahtani. This initiative was supervised by the Head of the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, Dr. Maqbool Alelyani. The initiative aims to achieve social responsibility; it also contributes to respecting the rights of the blind to have easy access to health awareness and medical services. Dr. Alelyani explained that this initiative serves to increase access for the disabled. It also facilitates the understanding of any tests or examinations they may take. He pointed out that the department is currently working on developing a technical project, which aims to deliver these tests as quickly as possible. Dr. Alelyani confirmed that the initiative is a part of the Department's role in educating the community which makes the University a place for knowledge, creativity, productivity, and community service. He thanked the students who participated in issuing this guide. The guide primarily provides content interpreted in Braille for blind patents at the medical scanning department. It covers the necessary preparations which need to be followed before being examined in the MRI, Mammogram, Tomography, Ultrasound, Fluoroscopy and nuclear medicine units with an awareness of their importance.

3,780 Prospective Candidates Compete to Join King Khalid University's Graduate Programs

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center  The Deanship of Graduate Studies is pleased to announce the second stage of the admissions process in which the 3,780 prospective candidates who formally completed their applications will undergo further evaluation. Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Ahmed Al-Fayea, explained that the deanship received the final admission applications last Tuesday evening for all higher diploma, masters, and doctorate programs for the 1442 academic year. Dean Al-Fayea added that the next stage of admission will be assigned to colleges and programs to ensure that the conditions are met, and to conduct tests and personal interviews, leading to the final stage online in accord with approved standards.

52 Thousand Beneficiaries Within the University Mobaderoon Initiative

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center  King Khalid University continues its programs within the "Mobaderoon" initiative, which was launched at the beginning of Ramadan and will continue throughout the summer vacation. The programs include many activities and various programs for the university's employees and their children, students, and society. His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, highlighted that the university is committed to being a center of research and innovation that supports regional development, noting that King Khalid University will provide unique opportunities for individual development and equality of opportunity during the COVID-19 pandemic. He added that the programs are presented online by qualified professors, experts and trainers from inside and outside the university, thanking all contributors for the program's implementation. Dr. Nasser Mansour Tayran, consultant of the University Rector, explained that the project presented 23 programs over 184 hours with 25,099 beneficiaries. Of note, Mobaderoon has served more than 52,0000 beneficiaries since its launch with 27,236 in Ramadan and 25,099 in Shawwal.

University to Hold Health Volunteer Symposium

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center  Under the patronage of His Excellency King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Falleh Al Solamy, the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education will hold an online symposium entitled "Health Volunteering" as part of the Mobaderoon initiative in November 2020. The symposium aims to highlight the importance of volunteer work in general and the health sector in particular, as well as spreading the culture of volunteerism. The symposium also aims to raise awareness of the health mechanisms and practices available to volunteers in the health sector. The symposium will include the participation of specialists and researchers from the health sector. Participants will discuss the areas of volunteer health work during the COVID-19 pandemic, the role of community institutions in health volunteering, and the characteristics of volunteer health work.

Deanship of Graduate Studies Plans Questionnaire Design and Data Analysis Workshop

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center  On the 3rd of Dhi Al-Qi'dah, the Deanship of Graduate Studies, under the Mobaderoon initiative, will deliver an online workshop entitled "Questionnaire Design and Data Analysis". Dean of Graduate Studies, Dr. Ahmed Al-Fayea, explained that the workshop, tailored to graduate students, will be a two-hour session from 9 pm to 11 pm. The workshop aims to introduce the importance of questionnaires and the most common mistakes that occur when building them, in addition to providing students with skills to design and deploy research instruments in the field.

The University President issues a number of appointment and assignment decisions

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center His Excellency the President of King Khalid University Prof. Falleh bin Raja Allah Al-Sulami, issued recently a number of appointment and assignment decisions. He congratulated the recently appointed wishing them all the best, and he urged them to work harder. The university's spokesperson, Dr. Muflih Al-Qahtani, explained that the appointment and assignment decisions for faculty members and employees included: Dr. Aida Bint Sanad Al-Qarni is appointed Dean of the College of Nursing in Abha. Dr. Ahmed Abdullah Al-Taihani is assigned a consultant at the University Agency for Educational and Academic Affairs. Dr. Nasser Muhammad Al Qumaishan is assigned a consultant at the University Agency. The period of appointing Dr. Adel bin Ibrahim Qahmash as Vice Dean of the Deanship of E-Learning was extended. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Yahya Al-Qarafi is assigned the Vice Dean of human resources development at the Deanship of Human Resources, in addition to being the Vice Dean of the Deanship of Planning. Dr. Abdul Rahman bin Abdullah Al-Hazemi is assigned the Vice President of the College of Arts and Sciences in Dhahran Al-Janoub. Dr. Latifa Suleiman Al-Ahmad is appointed the Vice Dean of the Deanship of Library Affairs-Female Section. Dr. Mohamed Khamash Al-Maghrabi is assigned a Director of the Center of Talent, Creativity and Entrepreneurship. Dr. Amer Ali Jaafar is assigned a supervisor of the Special Needs Unit at the Deanship of Student Affairs. Dr. Fahd Saeed Al-Maleh is assigned the Head of the Department of Sunnah and its Sciences at the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion. The period of appointing Dr. Abdulaziz bin Awad Al-Amari as the Head of the Department of Medical Education at the College of Medicine was extended. Dr. Ali bin Mohammed Al Numa Al-Qahtani is assigned the Head of the Department of Arabic Language and Literature at the College of Humanities. Dr. Asmaa Abdul Manea Al-Hammadi is assigned the supervisor of the Department of Educational Technologies at the Female Section of the College of Education. Mr. Hasan bin Ali Al-Qahtani is appointed a financial controller of the Student Fund.

2976 virtual classes and training 815 lecturer, all in one week

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University continues the summer semester online for more than 29500 student in different majors in Abha and other provinces in Asir. The total number of courses was 653 which were delivered by 594 faculty members, those courses were divided into 1678 sections. The Dean of E-learning Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Ahmari, explained that according to the  Learning Management and Virtual Classrooms System, during the third week of the summer semester of 1441 AH the users reached 104751. The total number of ratings was 95378, and decision boards 15290. As for the viewed files they reached 1748, and virtual class sessions 2976, the number of attendees at the virtual classroom sessions was 65557. On technical support, Al-Ahmari stated that the support reports reached 181 through various means. As for training, the Deanship implemented, during the second week, a course on how to give a successful virtual class lecture. It targeted faculty members and was attended by 815 male and female faculty members. Three guides were also prepared and implemented. Tamkeen channel also continued its efforts to provide educational services, where the number of videos since the beginning of the summer semester reached 277, with 11,795 views in 350 hours.

The College of Sharia to Hold Workshop on Saudi System

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University, represented by the Awareness and Cultural Activities Unit at the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion, as part of the Mubaderoon initiative, will organize a training course titled “Introduction to Saudi Systems" on Sunday evening, the 29th of Shawwal. The course aims to is introduce the fundamentals of the Saudi system and its characteristics, introducing the basic systems in the Kingdom and clarifying each department. The course targets those interested in law and researchers and postgraduate students. The workshop will be presented by Dr. Abdulelah Al-Shahrani, assistant professor of systems at the Department of Jurisprudence at the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion.
