Choosing the Right Journal for Your Research Training Program

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center  The Deanship of Scientific Research at King Khalid University organized a training program as a part of the "Mobaderoon" initiative. The online training program targets researchers and is entitled "Choosing Humanities and Social Sciences Journals". The program will be delivered by Vice Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Zehbah Al-Raiza. To register, please (click here). Dean of Scientific Research, Dr. Hamed Al-Qarni, explained the program focus on developing the basic skills to publish in scientific journals, so they can share their scientific research locally and globally. The program is a part of a series of training course and programs which aim to develop the scientific, research and professional levels of male and female researchers.

1300 Trainees Complete Training Programs at the Deanship of Scientific Research

The Deanship of Scientific Research at King Khalid University held eight training programs during the 2018 fall semester in the fields of scientific research and development. The programs included introductory lectures, training courses, and workshops that were attended by more than 1200 faculty members and 100 external participants. Dean of the Scientific Research Deanship at King Khalid University, Dr. Hamed bin Majdoua Al-Qarni, explained that the training programs are a result of the deanship's effort in the development and growth of research skills among university members and a step towards achieving the university mission to meet international standards in the field of scientific research and publishing. The programs included two introductory lectures that discussed the role and initiatives offered by the Research and Development Office at the Ministry of Higher Education. Among the initiatives discussed were the basic sciences, engineering and health initiatives, social research initiatives, a symposium that introduced the programs offered by the Deanship of Scientific Research, support of small and large research groups, supporting non-funded research, postgraduate research, and publishing/translation programs. Also, a number of courses were offered on the topics of research questionnaires, statistical analysis skills, an introduction to EndNote Desktop for new users, and online-based approaches to identify real journals.
