14K Virtual Classes in Second Week of Fall 2020 Semester

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of E-learning at King Khalid University announced the statistics for the second week of the Fall 2020 semester. The statistics included the completion of 14,087 virtual sessions and 389,504 total logins for 50,782 students distributed across 14,752 sections. Dean of E-learning, Dr. Naif Jabali, explained that the current educational process at King Khalid University is electronic. He praised the response of faculty members and students in facing the change to an online learning environment, noting that some of the courses delivered in week 2 included a course encouraging creativity in discussion board posts delivered to 461 faculty members. He also noted that the College of Science and Arts at Sarat Abidah delivered a training session for 164 students. "The virtual reception of first-year students witnessed 2,116 students who were eager to begin their academic careers. We followed this up with an online learning session for 50 students," he concluded. Of note, the Deanship of E-Learning designed five informative infographic designs for students and faculty members. Also, the Tamkeen YouTube garnered 22,563 views and 560.2 hours of watch time in the second week alone. In terms of support, the Deanship offered 431 technical support services through the phone, 516 through WhatsApp, 42 through the Deanship's office, and 14 through emails. 74% of these services were for faculty members and 26% for students.

Nearly 30K Students Enroll in Summer Semester Conducted Online

Source:  King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University continues to offer its summer semester remotely to 29,589 students in various specializations, offering 653 courses presented by 594 faculty members in 1678 online classes. Dean of E-Learning, Dr. Fahad Al-Ahmari, explained that in the light of the standards of the learning management system and virtual classes during the second week of the summer semester 1441 AH (15-19 Shawwal), there were 99,401 user, 74,113 evaluations, 6,605 discussion board posts, 3,320 viewed files, 3,181 virtual classes, and 82,138 participants. On the technical support side, Dean Al-Ahmari said that 253 support enquires were received since the beginning of the summer semester. In addition, the Deanship held a workshop on building electronic content on Blackboard for faculty members that was attended by 582 faculty members. It's worth noting that the Deanship's channel "Tamkeen" also continues its efforts to provide educational services, as the number of videos since the beginning of the summer semester reached 275, and the channel achieved 4,578 views in 135 hours and the number of interactions reached 40,437.
