Rector Supervises Educational Process and Meets Students

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector, Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, was accompanied by Vice Rector for Educational and Academic Affairs, Prof. Saad Du'ajim, to see the progress of the educational process for the Fall 2020 semester. They visited several colleges to make sure that COVID-19 protocols were followed. Rector Al-Solamy was briefed on the educational process by the College of Science Dean, Prof. Ali Al-Shatti, during a Blackboard training meeting with freshmen students at the College of Science. He praised the faculty members' efforts in training students and adhering to the social distancing procedures. He stressed the importance of continually providing PPE in classes and labs. He advised first-year students to benefit from the e-services to facilitate their education, wishing them all the best. Rector Al-Solamy then delivered a speech to the students in an online lecture, highlighting King Khalid University's eagerness to assist students. Dean of the Pharmacy College, Dr. Abdulrahman Alsayari, then introduced an app developed in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Dean Alsayari mentioned that it allows students to train as pharmacists interactively. The training is through an electronic virtual pharmacy, in which the trainee receives prescriptions and dispenses appropriate medications. The process is supervised and assessed electronically by faculty members. Of note, King Khalid University started the 2020-21 academic year for around 60,000 students, with deans across all colleges meeting students online to welcome them and answer their questions.

29500 students continue the summer semester online

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University continues the summer semester online for more than 29500 students in different majors and headquarters in Abha and other Asir provinces. The total number of courses reached 653 course delivered by 594 faculty members to 1678 sections. The Dean of E-learning Dr. Fahd bin Abdullah Al-Ahmari, explained that according to the Learning Management System and the Virtual Classroom standards, during the fifth week of the summer semester (7-11/11/1441 AH). The total number of users who logged in was 106047, the reviews were 121420, the discussion boards were 12985, the viewed files were 3002, the virtual classroom sessions were 1544 and the attendees to these sessions were 43553. As for technical support Al-Ahmari confirmed that the technical support requests reached 321 through different means. The Deanship implemented during the fifth week a course on applying the QM Approved Quality Standards in designing e-courses for faculty members. The corse was attended by 24 faculty members. Another course was for students on E-learning skills which was attended by 550 students. Tamkeen YouTube channel continued to provide educational services where the number of videos since the beginning of the summer semester reached 277. The channel had 20,403 views in 624 hours.

Intellectual Awareness Unit Holds COVID-19 Awareness Talks

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center Under the patronage of His Excellency, King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, King Khalid University's Intellectual Awareness Unit will hold, on the 27th of Shaʿbān, an online symposium entitled "Legal and Health Awareness in the COVID-19 Pandemic Era". Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences at Khamis Mushait, Dr. Abdullah Al-Sabaani, General Surgery Consultant at Asir Central Hospital, Dr. Gharama Al-Shehri, and Dr. Musaed Al-Sureiee, faculty member at the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion, will each hold a session moderated by Dr. Saeed bin Motaib bin Kurdim from the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion. The Intellectual Awareness Unit will also host a session, delivered by College of Education faculty member Dr. Dhafer Saeed Al-Hammad, entitled "Family and Community Awareness to Deal With the COVID-19 Pandemic". On Tuesday evening, Dr. Nora Al-Faifi, Al-Samir Campus Supervisor, will also host a session moderated by Deputy Supervisor of the Women's Intellectual Awareness Unit, Dr. Dwlaa Asiri. Intellectual Awareness Unit Supervisor, Dr. Misfer bin Ahmed Al-Wadai, explained that the unit is supported by His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy, with an overarching objective to fulfill Vision 2030's affirmation of a moderate nation by strengthening a sense of patriotism and dedication to serving the national interest in all domains.

Vice President Al-Buhairi Inspects Student Dormitories

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University Vice President, Dr. Mohammed Al-Buhairi, visited the student dormitories at the Lasan campus on Tuesday morning. He was briefed on the services provided to students and the precautionary and preventive measures taken by the concerned authorities to preserve the health of the students. Vice President Al-Buhairi explained that the visit comes within His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy's directive to apply precautionary measures to assure the safety of the university's employees and students. Vice President Al-Buhairi was accompanied by a number of department directors to ensure continual care for student housing and the submission of monthly reports on student housing. Vice President Al-Buhairi stressed the importance of listening to students' suggestions and observations and identifying their needs to overcome any difficulties that may occur.

Deanship of Admissions and Registration Announces Transfer Process Dates

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center The Deanship of Admissions and Registration announced the dates of the internal and external transfer process and change of degree for the fall 2020 semester. External requests will begin on the 15th of Ramadan and end on the 15th of Shawwāl. Internal requests will run the course of 5 days beginning on the 10th Shawwāl. Changing the degree (bachelor to diploma) will start on the 20th of Shawwāl until the 23rd of Dhu Al-Hijjah. "The acceptance of internal or external transfer depends on the availability in each section," said Dean of Admissions and Registration, Dr. Abdulmohsen Algarni. KKu to Organize “ Integrity and Anti Corruption ” Meeting

Source: King Khalid University - Media Center Under the patronage of His Excellency King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh bin Rajallah Al Solami, King Khalid University in collaboration with the National Anit -Corruption Commission  “ Nazaha “ is to hold the “ Methods to Protect and Promote Integrity “ which is part of the  “Our Nation is our Responsibility “ initiative  on Tuesday 14 Rabie Awal 1441AH at the university main campus Greger.  Chairman of the Scientific Committee Dr. Abdullah Al-Aidid said : that the meeting is to host the participation of a number of government and private sectors from Asia region,  and is also to include two session first of which is entitled “ methods  and mechanisms to enhance integrity"  which is to discuss the impact of corruption on national security and e services, while the second session “"Integrity Protection Requirements” and is to discuss the role of public  employees in  spreading the culture of integrity.  Representing the university in the meeting is the  Awareness and Cultural Activity Unit  from the College of Sharia and Fundamentals of Religion. It worth noting that the  meeting targets  public employees in government entities, through highlighting their roles in promoting integrity.

Saudi Universities Spokespersons Forum

Source:King Khalid University - Media Center King Khalid University will host all official spokespersons of Saudi universities in a forum titled "Saudi Universities Spokespersons: Challenges and Ambitions" on the first and second of Safar 1441 AH. King Khalid University Rector, His Excellency Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy, explained that the forum is a result of the university's keenness to provide an opportunity for national spokespersons to exchange views, expertise, and the channels used in representing their respective institutions. His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy also added that the forum will discuss a number of topics alongside nationally renowned media figures that will include: Identifying Relevant Information; The Relationship Between and Among Spokespersons and the Media.
