The University represented in the Deanship of Community Service and Continuous Learning organized, on Sunday the 22nd of Shawal, a course entitled “The Skills of Dealing with Crises and Disasters”. This course is a part of the project “Mobaderon”.
The Dean of Community Service and Continuous Learning Dr. Omar Alwan Aqeel, explained that the course is a collaboration between the Deanship and the Business Collage. It’s an online course that lasted for two hours from 7p.m to 9p.m. He pointed that the course targets female community members. He thanked the Business Collage for their collaboration and everyone who participated in organizing this course.
The course aims to explain the concept of a disaster scientifically, and clarifying the difference between a disaster and a crisis. It also aims to introduce the most important types of crises, and explain the most important strategies to deal with a crisis and the key factors to succeed in dealing with them. In addition to introducing the role of community institutions and individuals in face of crises and disasters. The course gave some suggestions and possible scenarios to help address the economic and social crises due to CVID-19.
