King Khalid University Hosts the Seventh Annual E-Learning and Distance Education Meeting of Saudi Universities

King Khalid University Rector Prof. Falleh Al-Solamy hosted the 7th annual e-learning and distance education meeting for Saudi universities on Thursday morning at the Abha Palace hotel. Also in attendance was the university Vice Rector of Academic Affairs, Saad Du'ajim, and many deans of e-learning and distance education from universities around the Kingdom. After welcoming the guests, Rector Al-Solamy stressed the importance of e-learning and distant education in advanced education.

Intercollegiate E-Learning Committee Chairman, Dr. Hisham Bardisi, explained that the purpose of the conference was to review the group's latest achievements and make plans for meeting outstanding objectives. These objectives include spreading awareness of the importance and capabilities of e-learning and distance learning systems. The participants discussed new ideas and approaches for digital learning and brainstormed solutions for challenges and potential obstacles.

The meeting was held to discuss opportunities for collaboration and exchange between the two visiting parties and King Khalid University. In attendance were the university vice rectors, medical college senior leadership, and the assistant director of General Health Affairs in the Asir region.  
Source: King Khalid University - Media Center In the with attendance of university vice-presidents and deans, the Rector of King Khalid University, Prof. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al Solamy, has sponsored this morning the launch of Guidance Campaign which is organized by the Center of Guidance and Counseling, Deanship of Student Affairs. The activity is taking place in Guraiger Campus, Abha and the campaign will be held for two days.   Upon the Rector's arrival, His Excellency was briefed on the event's educational programs, tools and equipment available within the campaign. HE took the time to value and appreciate the efforts made by the organizers in the Deanship of Student Affairs and the Guidance and Counseling Center, stressing the role of counseling in all students' fields and its importance in refining and supporting their scientific and academic careers. For the part of the Center for Guidance and Counseling Supervisor Dr. Khudran Al Suhaimi, he explained that "the campaign aims to provide educational psychological awareness to university employees, through exhibitions and clinics interested in cognitive and behavioral therapy". Additionally, he commented, "such clinics and programs focuses also on psychological and educational medicine, with attention to psychological aspects like raising the awareness towards mental disorders, anxiety, stress and their scales ". An interactive lecture entitled 'Psychological Stability and its Importance to the University Student' was provided by Dr. Faisal Al-Qahtani as accompanied activity to the campaign today. On the second day of the campaign, Dr. Sami Al Fifi will deliver another training course entitled 'Time Management and Priorities'. 
Source: King Khalid University – Media Centre King Khalid University, represented by the Female Students' Cultural and Social Activities Agency, will host the Sixth Cultural Olympiad on 6-10/3/1441 AH, which is held annually. The purpose of the games is to challenge and test the students' skills and abilities in several disciplines including: Reciting the Holy Quran; The Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH); The Biography of the Prophet (PBUH); Poetry; Nabati Poetry; Monodrama; Short Story; Arabic Calligraphy; Drawing; Caricature; Photography; Digital Art Design; Culture; Short Films; Community Service. Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Abdullah Al-Atheed, explained that it is important to encourage these and related student activities as they support professional and social development. He thanked His Excellency Rector Al-Solamy for his support of the games and also thanked Vice Rector of Academic Affairs, Dr. Saad Du’ajim, for his support and counsel in making these games successful. Those who wish to participate in the games can enroll until next Wednesday at the college club.  
Source: King Khalid University – Media Centre Two high diplomas at King Khalid University received a classification and accreditation from the Ministry of Civil Service, within a group of higher diploma programs approved by the University Council and was submitted for accreditation. The dean of postgraduate studies at the university, Dr. Ahmed bin Yahya Al-Faie, said that the ministry recently adopted two high diploma programs, they are the Diploma of Law at the College of Business and the Diploma in the Prevention of Drug and Psychotropic Substances at the College of Education. . He also stressed the importance of adopting and categorizing such programs because of their scientific and professional needs, in addition to their contribution in developing and achieving the vision of Saudi Arabia 2030, praising the role of the faculties of the university to develop frameworks and plans a number of diplomas and master’s and doctoral programs that constitute a qualitative addition to the university. The Deanship is working on the classification of a number of programs that touch the needs of society and the labour market, which have already been approved by the University Council, the most prominent of which are the Higher Diploma in Safety Engineering and Fire Protection at the Faculty of Engineering, and the Higher Diploma in Cyber Security at the Faculty of Computer Science.
Source: King Khalid University - Media Center His Excellency King Khalid University President, Prof. Dr. Faleh bin Raja Allah Al-Salami witnessed on Wednesday the signing of a number of cooperation agreements and consulting contracts between the university and each of Motmaena association in Asir region, the green association of Asir, in addition to the Dammk sports club, at the administration building in Abha University City. These agreements and contracts come with the aim of activating the leading and societal role of the university with various institutions and parties, and creating cooperation for the benefit of the university and the parties with which the agreements were signed. As for the parts of the agreements, the Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Prof. Dr. Saad bin Abdulrahman Al-Omari represented the university in the agreement of Motmaena association, while the association was represented by its president Fahd bin Hussein Al Hadi. In the agreement with Green Asir Association the university was represnted by the Dean of the Deanship of Community Service and Continuing Education, Prof. Dr. Omar Alwan Aqeel. The association was represented by it president Eng. Khaled Alshihri The University was represented in contract of providing advisory services in the field of governance to Damac Sports Club by the Vice President for Business and Knowledge Economy, Dr. Abdul Latif bin Ibrahim Al-Hadithi, the club was represented by the Vice Chairman Mohammed bin Thabit Al-Shahrani.
