Committees at the Program Level

   The committee cares about the issues that are related to the development and the quality of the program. It is directly related to the

    head of the department and established according to the decision of the Department meetings.

   The committee consists of three members and one course has been chosen and submitted its  course report  to the head of the department.

   The missions of  the Committee  of Development and Quality regarding the Department Spreading the culture of quality in the Department.

   Supervising the Department's strategic plan and monitoring its implementation.

   Proposing the development plans for the department.

   Implementing evaluation activities and academic accreditation and following them up.

 Proposing objectives and learning outcomes for different programs in the department (Bachelor-master-doctorate),  as well as proposing ways

   to achieve these objectives and different evaluation techniques in order to measure learning outcomes or achieve these goals.

   Supervising and following up the preparation of curricula's course file.

   Identifying the possible ways of improvement and proposing necessary projects to be implemented in the department.

   Preparing the department's handbook, jobs' opportunities, and course descriptions.

   Receiving the members of Academic Accreditation from outside the university and the quality committees from the university

     which visit the department regularly.

   Encouraging staff-members to propose new projects and helping them to fulfill these projects.

   Supervising the process of self-evaluation of department's programs  and preparing self-study reports of the academic programs.

   Contributing with the Quality Unit in the College to familiarize students with quality and Academic Accreditation by giving lectures and workshops.

   Documenting the efforts and the procedures of Academic Accreditation and submitting a report to the head of the department.

   Collecting data about the requirements of Academic Accreditation and the activities of the quality unit regularly and implementing them in the department.

   Writing periodic reports about the performance level and to what extent the students are pleased with this performance at each activity.

   Conducting regular meetings to discuss how to implement the requirement of Academic accreditation of program.

   Preparing programs' course descriptions.

   Doing other tasks regarding the Academic Accreditation and the activities of quality unit.

   Following up and compiling the students' personal data and providing means of communication with them (especially Bachelors students) 

    in all the academic departments.

   Collecting and compiling the employers' data and providing means of communication with them.

   Following up the implementation of the departments' programs in order to build a strong relation between alumni and employers.

   Preparing questionnaires in which the alumni  satisfaction about their major is measured. Then compiling the results and giving advice to them.

   Establishing an effective mechanism for providing employment opportunities for alumni like conducting recruitment events, survey about the

    employers' opinions of the alumni levels,

    and making use of employers' opinions about the courses taught at all the departments in the college.

   Conducting meetings regularly to follow up the progress of work in Curriculum and Programs Committee with the need for coordination

     with similar programs in the other departments of the University.

   Taking proposals for course plans, programs, and curriculum from different departments in the university  into consideration and submitting

    them to the head of the department.

    Finishing off the requirements of curriculum for old and new established programs as it is stated in the manual (page 4 & 5  /

    building and developing programs).

   Having commitment regarding the hierarchy of approving the curriculum and programs as it is mentioned in the manual (page 6 / 

    building and developing programs).

   Completing the forms which are required for the preparation of  new curriculum or programs  or the development of old

    programs as it is mentioned in the manual (forms 1-2-3-4-5-6-7).

   Improving current curriculum and programs according to the forms (a, b, c, and d)

   Submitting periodical reports about the progress of the work to the deanship of quality and academic development.

   Supervising the implementation of programs' course descriptions .

   Meeting the requirements of new programs according to the manual of preparing and developing the academic programs.

   Meeting the requirements and the criteria of changing some programs (program's outcomes, program's title, course deletion,

    and course addition).

   Meeting the requirements and criteria of adding a referee for a course.

   Holding training workshops for the members of programs  committee in the department according to their needs.

   Spreading the programs and curriculum's quality culture among the staff members in the department.

   Having commitment regarding the requirements that the deanship of quality and academic development asks for in the program.

   Compiling the meetings and the work of curriculum and programs committee.

   Collecting courses' self-study reports from the other campuses through the coordinator and submitting them to the vice dean

    of quality and development unit or the head of quality unit.

   Collecting programs' self-study reports from the other campuses through the coordinator and submitting them to the vice dean of quality

    and development unit or the head of quality unit.

   Cooperating and coordinating among common programs (men / women) in the university campuses.

   Collecting the projects that are implemented in the departments and compiling them and the contributions of these project

     for community service and development plans as well.

   Encouraging the students' initiative to raise the service role of the community through seminars and publications in coordination

     with the relevant committees in all departments.

   Strengthening the connection between the college and the people in charge of development plans in Saudi Arabia.

   Developing programs to strengthen the relationship between all departments in the college and community and following up their implementation.
